8" × 8" Mixed media: Polaroid, acrylic and metallic pigment on canvas, with maple floating frame .
The fifth work in a seven-part cycle drawn from the chakra system, the Sanskrit चक्र (cakra) "wheel" denoting the body's revolving centers of subtle energy. This is विशुद्ध (viśuddha), and the name does not mean "communication." It means purified "very pure". Its element is ākāśa (ether) the medium that carries a thing without being the thing. The tantric manuals place it at the throat because that is where the nectar descending from above is said to be filtered before it reaches the body. What passes through here is refined, not merely relayed.
The work carries: Honesty · Clear Communication · Authenticity · Listening · Creativity Through Language.
