The sixth work in a seven-part cycle drawn from the chakra system, the Sanskrit चक्र (cakra) "wheel" denoting the body's revolving centers of subtle energy. This is आज्ञा (ājñā), "third eye," set behind the brow, and it is the only chakra with no element assigned to it: nothing left to be made of. Two petals, one on either side, where the body's channels finally converge. Its business is perception past the reach of the senses — intuition, imagination, insight, the recognition of a pattern before there is evidence for it.
