8" × 8" Mixed media: Polaroid, acrylic and metallic pigment on canvas, with maple floating frame .
The third work in a seven-part cycle drawn from the chakra system, the Sanskrit चक्र (cakra) "wheel" denoting the body's revolving centers of subtle energy. This is मणिपूर (maṇipūra), the "city of jewels" seated at the diaphragm, its element fire and its business will: the center of identity, decision, and the discipline to pursue a thing after it has already failed. Its balance point is narrow. Too little and nothing gets done; too much and you get a tyrant. What it wants is quiet confidence in this solar plexus.
The work carries: Confidence · Motivation · Discipline · Personal Responsibility · Leadership.
