Larger than the Chakra series, this once in a lifetime team represents the process of the future changing the present. Retrocausality operates on the logic of the reliquary. The Polaroid: small, matte, its emulsion already bearing the pale bloom of chemical age, it is not illustrated but enshrined, set into the surface as a photographic core around which everything else accretes. The strategy descends from Rauschenberg's Combines and Cornell's boxes: the found document surrendered to the painting, its authority as evidence both preserved and destabilized by the material that engulfs it.
