Collection: Nullvoid Wars - Part B

PART B of FIELD TRIP 0061 focuses on the anchor fuzul Leon Flint and his group of fighters known as the Rogue Menagerie.

The Rogue Menagerie is a rebel tribe that fights the Nullvoid wars by turning the wasteland’s engineered creatures into an army. Founded by Leon Flint and Fabian Slocum, two farmers-turned-fighters whose towns were taken by the southern warlords, the Menagerie was built on the belief that brute force is wasteful and the land itself can do the fighting. Where other tribes charge, Leon steers. Zacariah Ray seeds the approaches with Tremblers, silver worms that explode underfoot and drift just enough to make yesterday’s safe route today’s grave. Subotai Surus breeds the Destriers and kills the Funnelbacks that would otherwise choke a battlefield. Undertow strikes from above on a levitating great white, and when nothing else works, Fabian’s Barghests are launched over the lines in sealed capsules to land hungry. What binds them is as much philosophy as tactics: in a wasteland that spits on mixed blood and hunts hybrids for sport, the Menagerie takes in engineered beasts, hybrid riders, and outcasts from every camp, asking only that they pull their weight. Half the time their enemies never realize they were attacked. They simply find themselves somewhere worse than they were, with the Menagerie standing where they used to be.
