Collection: fuzuls

Fuzuls (Field Unification Zones for Uploading Layered Sentience) are future beings that serve as windows for the past. During a FIELD TRIP, a fuzul receives the consciousness of a THREADER, which overlays onto it — allowing the threader to remote-view through the sensory organs of the being it occupies. Each fuzul encountered is immortalized as a limited-edition, signed and numbered art print.

There are four types of fuzuls:

ANCHOR FUZULS — Every field trip has exactly one anchor: the main character the threader inhabits for the trip's full duration. In film terms, this is the Lead Actor, the star of the movie. Anchors are the rarest type and the richest in decrypted content — the MEMORAGER records the VISIONS an anchor experiences, giving full insight into its life and relationships. Only 1 signed art print is released per anchor fuzul.

RELATIONAL FUZULS — While perceiving through the anchor, threaders interact with relational fuzuls: the beings in close relation to the anchor, often its friends, family, or loved ones. In film terms, these are the Supporting Actors, sharing many scenes with the lead. During the post-trip debriefing, the Charon Directive team documents these interactions and how the anchor perceives each relationship. Rarer than observed fuzuls, but more common than anchors. Only 5 signed art prints are released per relational fuzul.

OBSERVED FUZULS — The background characters the anchor has brief interactions with. In film terms, these are the extras. Researchers release only the most visually striking observed fuzuls a threader encounters on a trip. Only 10 signed art prints are released per observed fuzul.

FRAGMENT FUZULS — Characters recovered from corrupt files. Fragments carry no reference to their field trip or threader, though some include a description drawn from Dr. Vivian Chen's post-trip debriefing notes. As rare as anchors — but far less understood — they are the dataset's hidden gems, offering visual clues to what future field trips might reveal. Only 1 signed art print is released per fragment fuzul.

Below is the complete list of all fuzuls discovered to date.
